Per què fem aquest pla? 

-Muntar una LAN Party mola molt, però si t’ho pares a pensar, és un esdeveniment que consumeix una barbaritat: desenes d’ordinadors encesos a la vegada, servidors, xarxes… i ja no parlem de la quantitat de brossa que es genera entre cables que es trenquen i ampolles de plàstic.

Com a futurs tècnics, creiem que no podem muntar això de qualsevol manera. Ens hem fixat en els Objectius de Desenvolupament Sostenible (ODS), sobretot en el d’Acció pel Clima i Consum Responsable, perquè el nostre deure és minimitzar aquest impacte. No és només reciclar una mica, és pensar com podem fer que la tecnologia sigui més neta i no malbaratar recursos.

2. Què hem implementat? (Accions tècniques)

Aquí hem anat més enllà del típic “no llençis papers a terra”. Hem pensat mesures informàtiques de veritat:

Estalvi d’energia (Smart Energy)

  • Virtualització: En lloc de tenir cinc torres físiques com a servidors, hem pensat de virtualitzar tot. Això vol dir que un sol hardware potent fa la feina de cinc, així que consumim una quarta part de l’energia                                                                                            
  • Profiles de consum: Configurarem els equips perquè passin a mode estalvi automàticament si detecten inactivitat de més de 15 minuts.
  • Protocol d’apagada nocturna: Farem una norma de grup per apagar monitors i perifèrics (teclats RGB, llums decoratives) durant les hores de dormir o quan hi hagi xerrades. Sembla poc, però 40 monitors apagats es noten en el comptador.

Gestió de residus (Zero Waste Tech)

  • Protecció del cablejat: Els cables solen acabar fets pols perquè la gent els trepitja.  posarem canaletes i brides per protegir-los. Si no es trenquen, no n’hem de comprar de nous.
  • Punt de recollida de RAEE: Posarem una caixa específica per a “deixalleria electrònica”. Si peta una font d’alimentació o un ratolí, ningú ho tirarà a la brossa normal; ho portarem nosaltres al punt blau quan acabem.
  • Fonts d’aigua: Prohibits els gots de plàstic d’un sol ús. Cada membre de l’equip porta la seva ampolla i fem servir les fonts del centre per rellenar.

3. La nostra Checklist de control

Aquesta és la llista que anem seguint durant la LAN per assegurar-nos que ningú es despista:

  • 1 -Servidors revisats i optimitzats per consum.
  • 2 -Monitors apagats durant les franges de descans.
  • 3 -Zona de deixalleria electrònica buida de brossa orgànica.
  • 4 -Cablejat de xarxa revisat i protegit (que ningú el trepitgi).
  • 5 -Ús d’ampolles reutilitzables per part de tot l’equip.

How long we retain your data
